Dogdrop

Dogdrop’s flagship dog‑daycare needed a space as agile as its drop‑in service. Athena converted a raw 2,300 sq ft unit in the Garey Building into a bright, pet‑friendly hub where busy DTLA residents can leave their pups for an hour or a day, hassle‑free.

Working to accelerated timelines and stringent animal‑care codes, we delivered an interior that balances durability with playful, tech‑forward style. Exposed ductwork, polished concrete and perforated birch‑ply panels echo the Arts District’s industrial character, while upgraded ventilation, floor drains and washable wall cladding support rigorous hygiene. Half‑height partitions create clear sightlines for staff, and integrated planters soften the minimalist palette.

Function drove every decision: seamless epoxy coves speed nightly sanitisation, touch‑free check‑in counters streamline kerb‑side hand‑offs, and ADA‑compliant access welcomes all dog parents. Sustainable choices — LED lighting, low‑VOC finishes and locally sourced timber — align with California’s environmental standards. Delivered on time and within budget, the facility now serves as the prototype for Dogdrop’s expanding national franchise network.
