Athena added a 1 200 sq ft wing that houses a vaulted family room and primary suite, then gutted the original structure to install wide-plank oak floors, twin marble islands, and concealed high-efficiency systems. Walls of French doors now slide open to a courtyard pool framed by a pergola-shaded veranda and a rebuilt guest casita finished to match the main house.
Behind the clean siding and grid-pattern patio lie new retaining walls, drainage, and native planting that stabilise the slope while carving out orchard paths and herb beds. Custom shaker cabinetry with oil-rubbed bronze hardware hides appliances, smart lighting, and HVAC — blending traditional charm with modern convenience. The pool deck integrates a slate-clad outdoor shower, BBQ island, and low-voltage lighting, all tied to a single smart-home hub. Careful value engineering — factory-finished siding, standard lumber, and repurposed fixtures — delivered the New-England aesthetic the owners wanted while keeping the schedule and budget intact.
