A tired 1930s Spanish villa was reborn as a chic retreat for Hollywood’s up-and-coming creatives — complete with a new pool house and resort-style grounds.
Athena preserved the villa’s white-stucco walls and terracotta roof, then introduced black steel windows to sharpen the silhouette. Inside, dark floors and arched openings give way to a light, open plan where hand-painted cement tiles frame a refreshed fireplace and kitchen splashbacks. Outdoors, we replaced a dated garage with a two-storey pool house: guest suite above, gym and spa bath below. A re-tiled lap pool, reclaimed-wood gates and drought-tolerant landscaping knit the ensemble together.
Patterned risers on the exterior stair echo Catalan heritage while concealing LED step lighting. The spa bathroom pairs a cedar sauna with a walk-in shower behind steel-framed glass, all set on mosaic floors for easy drainage. Courtyard upgrades — including a built-in banco, sculptural chimney fireplace and wireless sound — turn the garden into an all-season entertaining hub, boosting both lifestyle and property value.
