A tired 1 100 sq ft cottage was elevated into a 3 200 sq ft, two-storey contemporary home with room to breathe and entertain.
We stripped the structure to framing, inserted steel moment beams and stacked a new second floor without altering the bungalow’s street set-back. Inside, a glass-railed staircase rises through a double-height living room, flooding both levels with light. The re-planned ground floor now features an open chef’s kitchen anchoring living and dining zones, while upstairs hosts four bedrooms, including a palatial primary suite with spa bath and custom walk-through wardrobe.
Wide-plank hardwood floors, high-efficiency glazing and spray-foam insulation boost comfort and resale value. A limestone-clad fireplace, stone wainscot and cedar pivot door update the façade, and the existing oval pool was resurfaced to complement new hardscaping. Delivered on time and within budget, the project tripled liveable space and transformed a neglected shell into a sought-after family residence.
