A raw storefront on Sunset Boulevard was transformed into Tantris Yoga — Russell Simmons’ two-story “temple for practice,” pairing heated vinyasa studios with a boutique, juice bar, salon, and meditation lounge.
Athena delivered a full gut build-out: floating oak floors with integral radiant heat, mirror-lined hot-yoga halls accented by carved jaali arches, spa-grade locker rooms clad in emerald zellige, and a glass-front retail space lit by halo pendants. Custom brass fixtures, acoustic clouds and concealed HVAC preserve serenity while meeting intense heat-and-humidity demands.
Back-of-house systems were threaded into the tight envelope — insulated ductwork, make-up air, UV filtration and a 100-gallon steam generator — to maintain 95 °F classes without disturbing adjacent tenants. A folding partition allows the main studio to convert for kirtan or teacher-training events, while the mezzanine salon and café expand revenue streams. Materials were value-engineered: engineered-stone counters edged in brass, prefabricated millwork with hand-rubbed walnut veneer, and modular retail shelving that flexes for seasonal merchandise. The finished space embodies the studio’s three pillars — Devotional Study, Daily Practice, Karmic Duty — offering a holistic retreat amid the bustle of West Hollywood
