The Prospect

The Prospect

A 1939 garden-court apartment building was reborn as The Prospect Hollywood — a 24-suite hideaway where Martyn Lawrence Bullard’s cinematic glamour meets Old-Hollywood history.

Cal Asia gutted the 20 original units, added seismic upgrades and discreet new MEP systems, then dressed the suites in Bullard’s signature exuberance — malachite walls, leopard carpet, brass-trimmed acrylic beds and marble-gold baths — all overlooking a restored palm-lined courtyard.

New accessibility lifts, concealed VRF climate control and an on-site commissary were woven into the tight footprint; exterior corridors received custom iron rails and heritage lighting, while lush terraced gardens now host alfresco lounges for guests en route to nearby NeueHouse. Period plaster mouldings were duplicated with digital scans, allowing sprinkler lines and data cabling to hide behind historically accurate trims — preserving 1930s charm while meeting 21st-century codes.
